Planning Your Wedding At Galgorm

Planning your dream wedding at the Galgorm Resort & Spa is such an exciting experience. On the blog today, I thought I would share some advice and tips for planning your wedding at Galgorm.

The Galgorm have a great team of Wedding Planners who will help you pull all your ideas together - they are amazing at what they do! The Galgorm also provide a list of Trusted Suppliers (of which I'm proud to say I am one!) and this is a great way to help take away so much of the stress that comes from planning a wedding. Once you have your wedding date finalised, there are a few importrant things to consider - will you have your ceremony onsite and which suite will you choose for your reception?

The Galgorm offers so many options onsite when it comes to planning your dream ceremony. The Ghost House, Phantom House & The Chandelier Garden are just a few of the options and they all offer something a little different. Check out this post to view some examples of Galgorm wedding ceremonies. One of the great things about having your whole wedding day at the Galgorm is that it removes so much stress and provides a really relaxed and chilled out atmosphere - for both you and your guests. You also don't need to factor in any additional travel time between your ceremony and reception which allows you more time to spend with your friends and family.

You then have the choice of reception suite - The Four Seasons, The Renaissance or The Great Hall. Each suite offers something a little different and it's definitely worthwhile arranging a viewing to see the rooms setup for a real life wedding as this will help you visualise what it could look like on your own wedding day.

If you've had the chance to visit the Galgorm you'll realise that the grounds are stunning and make the perfect backdrop for your Galgorm wedding photos. You can use the iconic spots like along the river or the Chandelier Garden, but I would always suggest to couples to be open to explore the grounds as there are so many other amazing spots for your wedding photographs that can make your Galgorm wedding look so unique! Keep an eye on my Instagram feed for regular inspiration for your Galgorm wedding.

My style of wedding photography is very laid back and relaxed. I keep posing to a minimum - I want my couples to be as relaxed as possible. Having wedding photos taken should never be a stressful experience. I usually begin my coverage at bridal prep in the morning which allows me some time to shoot all your wedding details, like dress, shoes, jewellery etc. I also love to spend this time documenting everything that is going on - the popping of champagne and the finishing touches of hair and makeup. If you’ve decided not to get ready at home, then Galgorm have some great options available ranging from one of their deluxe hotel suites to a newly refurbished private cottage or log cabin by the river. All offer something different so I would suggest having a chat with your Wedding Planner to see what would work best for you and the number of people in your bridal party.

My usual photography coverage finishes at call for dinner, however there are options to extend this for speeches and dancing. Depending on the time of year, we can also try and grab some of that awesome sunset light!

Galgorm Wedding Planning Advice

I also chatted with some of the Galgorm wedding planners and asked for their top tips for planning your dream Galgorm wedding. Here’s what they had to say…

My advice to my couples would be to have a mini moon for a few days at the Resort as they will still be in the wedding bubble, and then to book a honeymoon for a month or so later so they still have something to look forward to. Jonathan

My advice would be to set up a wedding email address so as everything is kept in one place. Book a day 2 event ie BQQ/Family lunch etc. Ensure you keep your guests entertained throughout the day. Music at the drinks reception is a fab way to start the celebrations. After dinner whilst the band are setting up there is a little bit of a lul as guests are so full from dinner so it is important to entertain them during this time. Donna

My advice would be to arrange a second night stay so you get to relax and enjoy the spa the day after the wedding. Karen
